Once you start writing haikus, it’s a little hard to stop. I’m starting to understand how Bashó could write thousands of them. I’ve written around a dozen so far, but this is the only one that’s not awful.
Beautiful woman,
In a sexy summer dress;
I forget to breathe.
“Transit Meter”
While riding the train
it’s best to refrain
from staring at strangers intently.
It only makes sense
some will take offense
and remind you so none too gently.
I spend an inordinate amount of time commuting.
